Conveying Good Will: Conveyor Safety Tips for Industrial Workers

Hi, my name is Brooke, and I used to run the HR department in a factory. I filed a lot of injury reports and helped a tragic number of people make claims for workers' compensation or WorkCover. In many cases, the accidents involved convener belts. By seeing what not to do, I really learned what should be done in terms of conveyor safety. I love writing and wanted to convey some good will to the world through a blog – I also love puns. In this space, I plan to post on conveyor belt safety as well as other posts related to a range of industrial equipment. I hope these posts help to protect you and your workers.

Get These 3 Maintenance Services for Your Split System AC to Enjoy Cleaner, Cool Air

by Ceyda Graumans

Most people are only concerned with the temperature of the air coming out of their split system air conditioners, and with good reason. After all, a cool comfortable home is the main reason behind getting an AC in the first place. However, you should also seek regular maintenance services to ensure that the air flowing into your home is not only cool, but clean as well. This will help avoid respiratory irritation and keep your indoor space clean. This can be achieved through the following maintenance services.

Clean & replace indoor air filters

Before air can be released into your home, it first has to go through air filters. These filters trap minute dirt that may have collected inside your air ducts or travelled from the outdoor unit. Air filters also trap dirt from your home through the intake manifolds. Over time, these air filters need to be cleaned regularly, or replaced, to prevent a buildup of this dirt. Without this maintenance job, your home may accumulate dust, fibers or other allergens from outside or from the HVAC air system.

Cleaning indoor evaporator coils

The indoor unit consists of the evaporator coil. This is that part of the split system air conditioner where air is blown through and cooled before being released through the indoor units. Just like the filters, these coils collect minute dirt from the outdoor unit over time. This dirt needs to be removed to avoid being transfer to the indoor unit. Clean evaporator coils also allow maximum interaction of air with the coils which gives you cooler air.

Cleaning outdoor condenser coils

The outdoor unit of a split system air conditioner serves as the first line of defense against dust, debris and particles. Since the unit is located outside, it can collect a lot of dirt. As a result the condenser coils need to be brushed to remove this dirt. If this does not happen, dirt may get into your home and clog your air ducts or indoor filters. The technician will also ensure the unit is not overly vulnerable to leaves, dust or dirt that may be reducing the air quality coming from your split system air conditioner.

It is important to note that apart from keeping your air clean, this maintenance service also ensures that these foreign particles do not damage your internal air conditioning system. Learn more about these and other maintenance services by consulting companies such as Air-Con Service Centre.
